2012 Solar Astrology Tidbits – Happy New Year!

Assuming we’re all gonna make it through the year, I’ve gone ahead and written a 2012 Solar forecast for each sign. You know the drill – if you know your ascendant, you may read that too. As you know, Solar, or “Sun sign” Astrology is only a glimpse of what’s happening in your life and where your focus is. True astrological insight is gained by studying your entire chart - and the transits and progressions you’re experiencing. That said, here we go:

Aries - Those of you born in the first decanate of Aries ( 0 to 10 degrees, approx March 20th – 30th) are feeling the liberating effects of the Uranus transit. Either your life is a true expression of who who you are, or it will be very soon. I can’t imagine what it would be like to work in a cubicle all day under this kind of transit. Saturn is still working it’s way through your relationship sector, which makes 2012 (through Sept.) the moment of truth in your love life. I’ve seen Aries friends and clients get married and I’ve seen them break up over the last couple years. At the very least, it’s a defining moment. The first half of 2012 should be a period of continued prosperity for you with Jupiter moving though your second house of money and assets. It can also be a time of extravagance, so just remember – it may not always be this good. Your love life improves between Feb. 8th and March 4th and reaches a possible turning point in early November. You have the opportunity to gain ground both career-wise and financially in 2012. For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Taurus - March 12th and 13th, 2012. Mark those days in your calendar (or on the overpriced electronic device of your choosing). I really don’t like to use the word “luck” (unless I’m referring to the Stanford QB) however things could really come together for you during that second week of March 2012 – especially those Taurus folks born around the end of April.  Once you’ve weathered the Venus retrograde period (May 15th – June 27th) 2012 looks to be a banner your for your bank account. May and June could also be a good period to ponder just why you’re hanging on to that collection of vintage blow dryers. I mean really, learn to get rid of stuff. Reduce, recycle and…what was the other one? Learn how to share in 2012 and the world will be better off. For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Gemini - Just get through the first half of 2012 and you’ll be rewarded in the second half. Of course it’s never that simple. The first half of 2012 does present some challenges for those of us who do “electional” astrology. You see, Mars will be retrograde in Virgo from Jan. 24th to April 14th followed by Venus retrograde in your Sun sign from May 15th to June 27th. Picking a wedding date? Want to start a business? Wait until July. Oh no…Mercury is retrograde from July 14th through Aug. 8th. You see how this works – sometimes it involves the process of elimination. All in all, Gemini has tremendous potential for opportunities in 2012, it just may feel like the wheels are stuck in mud for a few months. Trust me – things kick into full gear after mid June, when Jupiter enters your sign and comes within a few degrees of Venus as it moves direct. Saturn will go direct in your solar 5th house in late June and Mars leaves the shadow of it’s retrograde at the same time (I know, never TMI for Gemini). So, bottom line – in 2012 you may move, straighten out some ongoing issues with your children and figure out what you really want in a relationship. For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Cancer - What can I say that I haven’t said already in the last two years? I know you’re tired of hearing about the Pluto opposition, and the Saturn and Uranus squares. Most Cancers I know have experienced some changes in their careers, relationships have been a pain in the ass, issues and challenges in relationships, and instability on the home front – depending on whether they’re born in early, middle or late Cancer. Here’s the thing – Cancer is a cardinal sign. Cancer never gets enough credit for taking care of business. Contrary to popular opinion, Cancer does leave the house on occasion, in fact you can be great entrepreneurs. And since security is so important you, you usually have some sort of nest egg to get you though hard times. So where are the blessings to be found in 2012? Your friends for starters, they helped you through most of 2011 and that continues. This might sound like a boring prediction, but you’re likely to become more spiritual in 2012 and possibly even find a guru of sorts. This is no consolation prize. You also have a lot to offer others less fortunate in 2012 (No Lindsay, I don’t mean community service). Focus on staying healthy as the North Node continues to make it’s way through your 6th house in 2012. For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Leo - It’s good to be king. The problem is, you never know who your friends are. In 2012, you’ll find out. By the end of the summer, you may be hangin’ with a different crowd. Watch how you handle your finances through mid-April, with Mars being retro in your house of money. In fact, I’d probably hold off on major purchases until the end of June. Hard to do, I know. The fist half of the year could bring a boost to your career, with the period around March 12th looking pretty auspicious. For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Virgo - Early 2012 will bring about changes in the way you go about business. Take it slowly and don’t expect all your ducks to be in a row yet. You may feel as if you’re never paid what you’re worth (you cog in the wheel you), but you’ve learned a lot about personal finance in the last couple years and you’ll be better off for this. By the end of the summer your career could take an exciting turn for the better (after mid to late June). If you really want to make the most of 2012, consider taking classes this spring – it will enhance your marketability before the summer when that great career transit kicks in. For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Libra - It’s been a long, challenging couple years for most Librans I know – and there are many. Saturn transits can be that way. And did I mention Pluto squaring your sign and Uranus opposing? Those born in the fist decanate of Libra may feel uprooted and home could feel a lot different. If you’re involved with someone, you’d be wise to give them a lot of space. Clingy-ness isn’t going to work. In the words of Elvis Costello – Your dreamboat turned out to be a footnote? Move on – there’s someone better on the horizon – could be a romance with someone from another country by the end of June. For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Scorpio - You’re at the end of a cycle this year (until October, at least). Life may feel like it’s been a series of false starts. Don’t despair. You have (or will have) the kind of  relationship support you never thought possible. For Scorpios who have been misbehaving: the proverbial chickens haven’t come home to roost yet – but they’re on their way (still pecking around on Libra’s farm). For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Sagittarius - Your creativity is going through the roof in 2012. Or, if other factors indicate, you may even procreate. The first half of 2012 may pose some challenges in your career direction – you may feel that things just aren’t moving along quickly enough. Patience is key, it’s just Mars going retrograde in your solar 10th house until mid-April. After that, it’s Venus’ turn to change direction on you. Be very careful committing to new relationships in May and June. Existing ties may be reevaluated – and that’s fine – it’s just the new ones (formed in May and June) that I’d be skeptical of. A new relationship or partnership may begin or blossom after mid to late June. This could be THE ONE – a truly significant other. And, oh by the way, Neptune leaves your Solar 3rd house in February – “losing” email is no longer an excuse. Promising more than you can deliver just leaves everyone disappointed (ask Rex Ryan, a Sag). For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Capricorn - Capricorn LeBron James leaves his native Ohio to take his talents to South Beach. Angry fans in Cleveland burn his jersey. Another Cap, Tiger Woods bounces his SUV off a tree and his seedy private life is revealed to the world. Pluto transits are never a walk in the park (or a day at the beach if you prefer). It doesn’t have to be that way though. Having undergone a serious Plutonian transformation in the last few years, I can tell you this: You will find a reservoir of regenerative power you never knew you had. Early Caps already know this. If you’re born after December 28th or so, you’ll soon find out. For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Aquarius - Neptune has begun it’s long transit through your Solar second house. Watch that checkbook. Money can seem like it’s going through your hands like water. There may be some confusion in all matters relating to your possessions, your accounts, and your stuff in general. For those of you in relationships – keep separate bank accounts. Have you moved recently? Whether or not you stay put, it looks like there’s an upgrade of your living arrangement. For more information and to arrange for a consultation, click on the banner:

Pisces - I knew a woman with Pisces rising who bumped into a mirror and said “excuse me”.  When Neptune is in your Solar 1st house you may not recognize yourself. But seriously, you have not only Neptune, but Chiron in your sign this year. Take care of yourself now. You may feel as if you’re more susceptible to colds and that glass of Chablis is having more of an effect than it used to. On the other hand it’s an appropriate time to develop your psychic abilities and healing power. Relationships may sputter though mid April. Avoid hasty commitments in the first half of 2012. Solar Eclipse July 1, 2011

The partial Solar Eclipse on July 1, 2011 is @ 9º12″ Cancer and is the start of “Saros Series 13 New South”*. It forms a cardinal cross by opposing Pluto, squaring Saturn, and squaring Uranus. Sound familiar? Yep. The folks feeling this the most will be those born during the following periods (dates are approximate):

Aries – born March 28 – April 2nd

Cancer – born June 28 – July 3rd

Libra - born Sept. 30th – Oct. 4th

Capricorn – born Dec. 28th – Jan. 2nd

Another Astrologer once said that eclipses are like turning the lights “on and off” in our chart (I wish I could remember her name, I always liked that). So here’s where this eclipse turns the lights on in your chart.

  • Aries – Home, family, Mom or Dad. Could simply be a matter of changes in the home environment, a move, or even some revelation about your family.
  • Taurus – Communications, short trips, your sibling(s).
  • Gemini – Money (I think I need a Lear Jet), your values, your self worth.
  • Cancer – Everything you see in the mirror. A new beginning.
  • Leo – Your subconscious mind (a terrible thing to waste). Interesting, perhaps revealing, dreams.
  • Virgo – Your friends and pier group. You love to fix everyone else’s problems, right?
  • Libra- Your career, your public self, one of your parents.
  • Scorpio – Taking a trip? Finding inspiration. Become a Guru.
  • Sagittarius – Joint assets, insurance and wills, sexuality.
  • Capricorn – A brand spankin new relationship – or a reasonable facsimile therof.
  • Aquarius – Your health, your J.O.B., your habits…and even your pets. So quit smoking…your hamster will love you.
  • Pisces – Your kids, a new romance? A fresh burst of creative energy.

The Sabian symbol for 10º Cancer (rounding up of course) is “A large diamond in the first stage of the cutting process” Sometimes Sabian Symbols don’t resonate with me, but I happen to like this one. It’s a diamond in the rough. This one is probably going to be a 5 carat square or emerald cut when it’s all finished. Since eclipses are always an appropriate time to meditate or do a visualization, keep this diamond in mind. Use active imagination. An important “trigger” date for this eclipse will be about August 16/17 when Mars reaches 9º Cancer. And by the way – Mars will be “out of bounds” between July 24 and August 22nd. The period between August 3rd and 17th is especially volatile.

*Bernadette Brady, our favorite eclipse expert says this:

“The theme of this entire series is about undertaking and/or completing large endeavours. At a personal level hard struggles begin to resolve, old thorny issues begin to untangle and the too-hard problems start to become clear”.

2011 Solar Astrology snippets

Here’s a look at 2011 for the whole gang. If you know your ascendant, you can read that too.

Aries – From late January through early June 2011, Jupiter will occupy your sign. Carpe the damn Diem! You may have read that this is a lucky year for you, and that may be true, but there’s still potential for unexpected events (or inspiration). That’s vague, I know, it’s just that you’re going to be under the influence of Uranus. No need for a breathalizer, it’s not Neptune. Uranus enters your sign and there it will spend the next eight years. Those Rams born in late March will feel it first. To use an Aries term – take charge. Especially in April and early May. You have the chance to do something special at that time. Revolutionize your life. Relationships continue to be challenging this year.  It could be that your partner wants more. You’re learning about the responsibility and accountability in partnerships. You may decide that significant others are simply a pain in the rear. Bosses and managers can be especially controlling. If you want to start your own enterprise, this might be the year.

Taurus – You always take your time and do things when you’re damn good and ready. Well, you’ll be good and ready in May this year. In June 2011 Jupiter will enter your sign, where is hasn’t been since 1999 – 2000. It was different then because Saturn was in Taurus as well. This time you should be able to reap the rewards of the ruler of your natural 8th house entering your sign. It could be a financial gain, or simply a flash of inspiration to get you out of your rut. Take care of that body. Deal with health concerns this year, whatever that entails. Get a physical. Ever undergone therapy? This is a great time to figure out what makes you tick. Your subconscious mind affects your behavior ya know.

Gemini - Get involved with groups as much as possible. I don’t care if it’s the Kiwanis Club or Friends of The Spotted Newt, just join. But don’t just join, lead. You’ll find that your friends and social networks (where have I heard that term before?) will be a source of inspiration and opportunity in 2011. Your offspring continue to present challenges. How do you juggle so much and still manage to take care of your parental duties? Late January and mid-June are especially important in this area. Situations involving your kids, if you have any, will have to be resolved. If you don’t have any children (or even if you do)  the challenge may lie in putting your creative ability to work. Turn fun into a business.

Cancer – Astrologers like to discuss Cancer with respect to their love of home, their family issues, and how they nurture. I’d like to give some props to Cancer for being terrific business people. This is the year when you may be able to forge ahead in that area. Even if you don’t feel so inclined, you may have new career opportunities in April and May. Some early Cancers are still dealing with the end of a relationship and perhaps a controlling individual. Or is it you who’s the controlling one? Nooo, not sweet motherly Cancer! In any case, power struggles are still an issue, especially in early April and mid September. Working from home may be an option with Saturn in your solar 4th house…just don’t fall prey to an envelope stuffing scam.

Leo – Younger Leos (and aren’t they all?) may be putting a lot of energy into their educational pursuits this year. Even older folks may be returning to school or doing a lot of traveling between January and May. In June, Jupiter enters your career sector and you may find a new job or even start a business. In any case, your relationship with bosses (parents?) should improve. Some Leos will decide this is the year to make a baby! That’s assuming these things are planned. Others will find romance (for lack of a better term) in 2011, but there’s still the chance that you could attract a deceptive partner. Neptune doesn’t leave your Solar 7th house until 2012, so be careful with those new connections on match.com. This is especially true for later Leos (born 8/17-21).

Virgo – Money may still be tight, but you’re getting your financial house in order. Your partner, if you have one, may make more of a contribution this year, especially in the first few months. By April and May you will probably feel more sexual than you have in ages. Just take a shower first…and after, if you’re one of those Virgos. Things come together financially and relationship-wise from late August to mid-September. There’s a good possibility of travel in the second half of the year. You may even be inspired to move far away. Really far.

Libra - Chickens have been coming home to roost since the fall of 2009 and there’s more on the way (I guess they’re free-range). Metaphorical poultry aside, you’ve probably been handling a lot of responsibilities lately and that will continue into 2011. You have absolutely no control over what significant others do. Partners will be full of surprises, especially in early July and early December 2011. You may have a new relationship in 2011, but it won’t be like anything you’ve experienced before. Many Libran’s families have come unglued over the last three years, so it’s been difficult. Watch what you say (or write) – your words can be used against you in a court of law.

Scorpio – The Dragon’s Head, aka the North Node enters your Solar second house in March 2011 and will remain there until August 2012. It’s time to lay the groundwork for a solid financial future. As the late great Astrologer, Buzz Myers once told me: “With Scorpio, it’s all about payin’ the bills”. I don’t know if I’d go that far, but he does have a point. Aside from that, you’re likely to super motivated to achieve perfect health this year. Relationship scenarios escalate in May and June.

Sagittarius – Create! Find or express your passion in 2011. As they used to say on The Magic Schoolbus – “Take chances, make mistakes, get messy”. Don’t give up on your dreams, purge your Facebook friends list, and do what you really love. There, that sounds like advice. Relationships heat up in June and July. “Follow your bliss”, as Joseph Campbell (Aries) liked to say.

Capricorn – I’m currently reading “Tearing Down the Wall of Sound – The Rise and Fall of Phil Spector”, the biography of the music producer extraordinaire (currently residing in Corcoran State Prison). If you really want to understand Capricorn (and Rock ‘n’ Roll history), I suggest this amazing page turner (or Kindle clicker, as the case may be). A genius, without a doubt, he scratched, clawed, used, and manipulated his way to the top (talent helped, of course). But like another Cappy you may have heard of, Richard Nixon, he fell off the mountaintop. With Pluto in your sign, you’re gonna get there, but who are you pissing off on your way to the top (hmm, LeBron?) As they say, treat people nicely on your way up because you’ll have to see them again on your way down. That said, you may move this year. One more thing: luck favors the prepared, and you certainly are prepared.

Aquarius – Poor Aquarius. The whole Neptune / Chiron transit has taken so long. Your ego has been on the back burner for a while. Now that you’re all spiritual and have gone through the healing process (yeah, right) home improvement and better family relations are on tap in the second half of 2011. Ever wanted to be a writer? Now’s the time. You have a lot to say, and a unique way of saying it.

Pisces – So how did that Jupiter growth and opportunity stuff work out for ya? Great, I hope (you betcha). 2011 will likely present financial opportunities for you. Be careful when it comes to sharing. I know you’re a compassionate soul, but remember what Polonius said in Hamlet: “Neither a borrower nor a lender be, for loan oft loses both itself and friend, and borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry”. Next up: career change possibilities beginning in March.

Best of luck to everyone in 2011!

You – Moving Forward – Mars goes direct in Leo

Ok, so maybe you feel like Sisyphus pushing that boulder since mid December. Mars retrograde can be like that. Since Mars will go direct next week (@ 0ºLeo 17″) it’s time to shift into the next gear (maybe like Sisyphus in a 4WD). I’d still wait ’til after the Sun enters Aries (3/20), i.e. the Vernal Equinox (and International Astrology Day!). I like 4/24,25,26 for starting somethin’ new. Yes, I know, Saturn is still retro ’til late May, but hey – you can wait forever for the perfect day. Life goes on. Since the average website visit is 57 seconds, here’s a brief look at where you might begin to take action and start anew: (keep in mind, this is Solar Astrology, if you know your ascendant, check that too).

  • Aries – Creativity, romance, children. Creating and procreating!
  • Taurus – Your home, family matters (the holidays are over, move on). Renovate your inner life and find a real “home”.
  • Gemini - Speaking your mind assertively. State your dreams aloud.
  • Cancer – Investing, valuing yourself, money (avoid spending just to feel good). Ask for a raise.
  • Leo - Your whole life! (and a haircut) btw: Watch President Obama show more assertiveness.
  • Virgo - Careful here with Mars in your Solar 12th house, watch the passive aggressive stuff. Try Yoga (if you’re brave Tantric).
  • Libra - Your male friends, your groups, clubs, networking. Energize and act on your hopes and dreams (with a partner even).
  • Scorpio - Your career, public image and reputation. Be the boss of you.
  • Sagittarius – Travel plans, college, getting published? Emerson said: “God will not have his work made manifest by cowards.” Keep that in mind.
  • Capricorn - Tax or insurance matters, write your will, collecting from partners, sex (business first, I understand).
  • Aquarius - Relationships (your partner may be more assertive). Watch the arguments.
  • Pisces – Take charge of your health and your job situation (they are connected).

Saturn Retrograde

daily_planetoid

On January 13, 2010 Saturn will go retrograde (@4° Libra)- until May 30, 2010 (direct @ 27° Virgo). Saturn rules limitations, structure, form, business, foundations (in every sense), lessons…Yep, Saturn rules RULES. Astrologers like to refer to Saturn as a no-nonsense disciplinarian, but what would we be without the rules and regulations it provides? The Saturn retrograde period is not the time to start major new projects or open a new business. Sometimes that’s hard to resist when the Saturn principle is malfunctioning. It is the time to reexamine and restructure projects and responsibilities we have already begun. Look under the hood and figure out what’s not working (don’t ya love those automobile metaphors?) and is the car even worth keeping? We’ll go into this deeper in a later discussion, but 2010 will be a challenging time for electional Astrologers for various reasons.

Now, some tips for this period for each sign (if you know your ascendant, you may read that too) :

Aries - Hold off on those engagement or wedding plans for now. A visit to your doc, chiropractor, therapist or shaman in the coming months (especially 4/7-7/21) should help you deal with some lingering health issues once and for all.

Taurus - Talk to your health care provider and review your meds, vitamins and exercise regimen. Take on those unfinished projects, but don’t start any major new ones. If you’ve been involved in some serious issues with children over the last couple years, you’ll get a chance to resolve those matters in the April-July period.

Gemini - Finish up those creative projects, ditch the ones that aren’t working. Have kids? Caring for them is your priority in the next couple years. Important home and family matters will be revisited between April and July. Where are you going to live?

Cancer - There are some changes brewing on the home front between now and 2012, but there may be issues around neighbors and siblings that will need resolving (once and for all) between April and July. Take another look at an unfinished writing project. A home that serves as an office will probably suit you in the coming years.

Leo – Your financial belt tightening should pay off later this year, but between April and July you may have to take care of some residual money matters dating back a couple years.

Virgo – Review your investments and expenses. Go through your attic and find some ebay gems. New Years’ resolutions are fine, but you may feel like you’re doing some back tracking between April and July.

Libra - Wait ’til August. OK? Not on everything…just that special plan.

Scorpio - Finish up, clear it out, let it go. Be patient, you’ll be better prepared for Saturn entering your sign in fall 2012 (assuming we’re all still here). Your hopes and dreams have taken shape since 2007 but there’s still some fine tuning this year, between April and July. Who’s had your back in the last couple years? (to readers outside the US, that means: which of your friends has looked out for you? been there for you?) By this summer you’ll know who your true friends are.

Sagittarius – You’ve had since the fall of 2007 to figure out the career thing. But there’s still some unfinished business you must deal with (you guess it, between April and July). What are your hopes, dreams and wishes? What groups of people do you wish to associate with? Your mission is to figure that out over the next couple years. To quote Groucho Marx (or was it Woody Allen?) Would you want to be a member of a club that would have you as a member?

Capricorn – It’s about career integrity for next couple years. The period from May though July may find you traveling for work, taking courses, or revisiting an unresolved legal matter.

Aquarius – Need to fill in some educational blanks? Time to take a hard look at what you need to take your career to the next level in a couple years. If you travel now, it may not be for pleasure. Tax matters, loans, and partners’ money matters work out better after July. For celibate Aquarians, the drought ends this summer.

Pisces – MasterCard, everywhere you want(ed) to be. It’s time to pay it off. Don’t depend on your partner’s cash flow. No shortcuts on that 2009 tax return. As I alluded to in the 2010 outlook, a closer look at your relationship(s) between April and July should lead you to some final conclusions (probably in late May).

Even though Saturn goes direct on 5/30/10, we’re not out of the “shadow” of this retrograde until early September ’10. As Saturn moves retrograde in Libra, it will re-enter Virgo on April 7th, go direct in Virgo on May 30th, then re-enter Libra on July 21st. The period from 4/7 through 7/21 will find us revisiting the issues of the past 2 1/2 years.

2010 Solar snippets

daily_planetoid

Here are some thoughts and bits of advice for all 12 Sun signs. If you know your ascendant, you may read that as well. As you know, Solar, or “Sun sign” Astrology is only a glimpse of what’s happening in your life and where your focus is. True astrological insight is gained by studying your entire chart - and the transits and progressions you’re experiencing. That said, here we go:

  • Aries- Are you an early Aries (March 20th to 25th)? You’re probably already experiencing some significant career changes, and the influence of Pluto (transformation) on your solar midheaven (career, public persona) will continue this year (key periods are early April and mid-Sept.). Relationships are especially challenging from Jan. 8th to 18th or so. Breakups and separations may happen, but at the very least you’ll take a hard look at your partner (or maybe you’ve already checked that off your to-do list). In any case, you’re serious in your approach to relationships over the next couple years. Your life could get pretty darn exiting come June 2010, with both Jupiter and Uranus entering your sign. The urge is to take bold, impulsive action at that time. There’s an opportunity for adventure and a whole new way of expressing yourself, but there may be a cost. Partners may offer a lot of “yeah-buts”. The rest of Aries will experience some of these same issues over the next couple years. Focus – career opportunities, personal expression and individuality. Relationships need work. Good luck with the balancing act. Life reaches a critical turning point from early July- early August. On the celebrity front: Matthew Broderick, Gary Oldman and Reese Witherspoon could have career breakthroughs this summer (or provide some fodder for gossip).
  • Taurus - Try not to get too stirred up over family issues in the first two months of the year (been there, done that?). You could regret any aggressive action you take prior to March 10th. Plan a home fixer-upper project, but don’t start until mid-March. Your diet and health will need extra attention in the next couple years. Being proactive will save you a lot of trouble in those areas. This would be an excellent year to go back to school. If you never got that degree, this would be the time to do it. Your friends will be a great source of support this year.
  • Gemini- 2010 could be an excellent year to find a new job or start a new business (after March). Children or younger people could be an area of great responsibility for the next couple years. I imagine Geminis would be terrific at running a day care center with their ability to juggle so much. By the end of the year you’ll probably be surrounded by a whole new group of people. After June, you’ll benefit tremendously from networking. Avoid gambling with your assets, in fact, stick with conservative investments for the next couple years (discuss any financial moves with a CFP).
  • Cancer- Feeling pressure? You bet. And it comes from every direction. Family responsibilities are a main focus for the next couple years (what else is new?). This could be your mom or dad needing you. You may be thinking about your roots, home improvement, moving. Your career could take an unexpected turn – possibly for the better – this summer. It may involve working from home. Early Cancers (6/21-6/30) will likely experience these issues first. Your relationship needs attention, but it’s quite a challenge having to juggle so much. Life reaches a critical turning point in late July- early August. Here are some well known Cancers who will probably make headlines this year: Michael Vick, George Michael, Tobey Maguire, Robert Reich, Ross Perot. All of them will experience the pressure of the cardinal climax firsthand.
  • Leo- Some of the financial pressures should be easing up this year, however there is the possibility of having to deal with past financial matters from April through July 2010. Focus on health now more than ever as there are a couple eclipses involving your health sector. With Mars retrograde in your sign (since Dec. 20th,2009) anger may be boiling over. That can’t be too good for your heart. Mid-march (after the 10th) is better for moving forward on plans and schemes. Dealing with siblings and neighbors could be a challenge in the next couple years.
  • Virgo- It’s been a difficult period for Virgos, having to separate all that wheat from the chaff over the last couple years. More than a few Virgos I know have had to extricate themselves from relationships with losers and are ready for healthier couplings (and one really special one). Yeah, there will always be those fixer uppers, after all – mutual signs excel in dealing with other people’s problems. You’re now in a period where you’ll need to get your financial house in order. Your innate practicality will come in handy over the next couple years. There are financial lessons to be learned now, so be proactive and seek out professional help if you need it.
  • Libra- All the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) are facing tremendous pressures, and you’re no exception. How does one start a new career, deal with unpredictable craziness in relationships, and maintain that Libra charm at the same time? You’re about to find out. Keeping your home life from falling apart may be the biggest challenge of all. There may be a special new person in your life this summer. The last person your expected. Life reaches a critical turning point in late July- early August.
  • Scorpio- Feeling romantic Scorpio? You will. Not only that, 2010 is going to be an extremely creative time for Scorpio. Issues with sibling and neighbors could arise. And what about your family? An ill parent is still a possibility and could need attention. And your home? Ever feel like there is no there there? I’m sure some of you know what I mean. Create your magnum opus in 2010!
  • Sagittarius- Feeling the itch to move to another country? State? Maybe you’re just buying a home or adding a deck. As free and unencumbered as you’d like to be, much of your time will be spent getting your financial house in order this year (and beyond). Make sure not to take any short cuts on those taxes. Your kids will either make you quite proud this year or do the last thing you expected (and succeed).
  • Capricorn- Have have you handled your ambition? If you haven’t taken any shortcuts or stepped on too many toes, you should be fine. Otherwise you could be facing your own personal Watergate in the next couple years. (yeah, ‘ol Nixon had Saturn in his 10th house during that period). A whole herd of Capricorns may be moving this summer, buying new homes, etc. Maybe they aren’t on the same scale you envisioned before the housing bubble burst, but still….you’re a Cap…a double-wide trailer simply won’t do. Life reaches a critical turning point in early April, late July- early August and mid September. Hear that Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, LeBron James? (and, oh yeah, that Tiger Woods guy). And to some of my favorite Caps of all time – Shane McGowan (the Pogues), Larry Csonka and Don Shula (happy 80th) – take care of yourselves gentlemen.
  • Aquarius- A long painful Chiron transit is nearing it’s end for most water-bearers, but for those born after Feb. 12th the process of healing continues. It’s still a confusing time for those later Aquarians, but also a period of inspiration. There could be huge improvements in store financially in 2010…and perhaps a pleasant surprise in May or November.
  • Pisces- 2010 will present many opportunities for you. Many Pisceans are emerging from a rough time in relationships (which may be revisited from April though July), but nothing keeps a Pisces down (except themselves very often). Late Pisces (March 14-20th) will still feel some of that Uranian excitement and unpredictability. You may be making a final decision on a relationship the last week of May. Then it’s time to move on. This is especially true of later Pisces as well. The less you rely on other people’s resources over the next couple years, the better off you’ll be. Some sources of income may dry up, just as new ones begin to emerge this summer. 2010 is about seizing the moment.

Hot Air …to Hot Water

476px-Aeronautics2Isn’t it amusing how the transiting planets manifest in the daily headlines?

As Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron line up in Aquarius, we have a news story about a six year old boy who just might have been carried away in a home-made hot air (or helium?) balloon. Turns out, the kid was hiding in the attic. Aquarius, of course, rules aircraft and Neptune – illusion and confusion (and balloons*, deception). Jupiter blows the whole thing out of proportion and it winds up on the national TV (Aquarius) news.

Glad everyone’s ok, albeit a bit scarred emotionally (Chiron). The poor kid even puked on live TV this morning.

Update: The father, Richard Heene was born 9/11/1961. His wife Mayumi was born 1/2/1964. No birthdays for Falcon Heene yet. I just took a cursory look at R. Heene’s Solar chart. His secondary progressed Sun is approaching his natal Neptune. Interesting. More later.
