Carl-Henric Svanberg (May 29, 1952), the Gemini Chairman of BP says : “We care about the small people”. Tony Hayward (May 21, 1957) CEO of BP says “I want my life back”. Would somebody please cap the flow of bullshit spewing from their mouths?
The Moon is in Virgo today, conjoining Mars, and the “small” people are pissed. In fact, there hasn’t been this much tension between Great Britain and the Gulf Coast since 1814. Andrew Jackson must be rolling in his grave.
Venus enters fiery Leo this morning and will immediately form a trine to Uranus and Jupiter in Aries. This will be an exciting day for many, with the potential for love at first sight (or surprising romantic revelations), as well as unexpected financial opportunities. Pay close attention to the people who come into your life today. Those individuals born around 3/21, 7/23, or 11/23 could benefit the most (early Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius). On Tuesday, July 15, Mars in Virgo will trine Pluto in Capricorn. This would be a powerful day to start a business, or most ventures, for that matter. Those born in late April, August, and September (early Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) will ge the most out of this aspect. Carpe Diem!
This morning Mercury entered Gemini, the sign it rules. It will form a T-square with Mars in Virgo and Chiron in Pisces (having recently stationed retrograde at 0º Pisces). In plain English: Watch your words. There’s a tendency to argue or let ego get in the way of communication with this configuration. Folks used to say to their kids: “sticks and stones can break your bones, but words can never hurt you”. Yeah, yeah….
Poet Maya Angelou has another take:
“I believe that words are things. Someday we will be able to know and measure, as mad as it sounds, we’ll be able to measure the hostility or kindness that emanates from certain words that people exhume when they say certain things. I think they stick on the walls, they go into the upholstery, they go into your clothes, and finally into your very body.”
So Mars finally entered Virgo, after an extended stay in Leo due to the retrograde. The god of war is now in the sign of service. Action is now more fine tuned and precise. Hopefully Mars in this detail oriented, analytical sign will help solve the Gulf Oil disaster. Mars in Virgo is the specialist who takes the time to perfect his craft. Both Robert E. Lee (1/19/1807) and George S. Patton (11/11/1885) had Mars in Virgo. Imagine if Patton were in charge of the Gulf clean up? We’d all be out on the beach scoopin up tar balls. BP executives would be groveling at his feet. Here’s George C. Scott from the film “Patton” to get you going (if you have the patience to watch him in all his politically incorrect splendor). Serve.
Mars is in the last degree of Leo today, conjunct the royal star Regulus @ 29º Leo. This conjunction takes place every couple years. Regulus is referred to as “the heart of the Lion” and is the brightest star in that constellation. Ancient astrologers considered Regulus to be similar to Jupiter and Mars. Some associate Regulus with violent energy. German astrologer (and physician) Reinhold Ebertin connected Regulus to royalty, nobility, and courage. Mars conjunct Regulus holds potential for other consequences. Ebertin and (Georg) Hoffman’s book “Fixed Stars & Their Interpretation” states:
“…when Mars or Saturn are in conjunction with Regulus, especially exciting events are always recorded e.g. assassinations, coup d’etats, revolutions, revolts, demonstrations, overthrow of heads of state and similar events.¹”
The only Mars/Regulus assassination I’ve been able to find so far is that of Russell G. Lloyd, Sr. (March 29, 1932 – March 21, 1980) mayor of Evansville, Indiana. On September 1, 1970 there was an assassination attempt against King Hussein of Jordan, with Mars conjunct Regulus (ya gotta love Wikipedia). On June 28th, 1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated. Mars was @ 1º Virgo, a couple degrees away from Regulus. On Nov. 3rd, 1964 President Lyndon Johnson defeated Barry Goldwater winning by a landslide 60+% of the vote. Mars was @ 28º Leo, conjunct Regulus. Hmm, well he did become president in Nov. 1963 as a result of JFK’s assassination. As for Saturn conjunct Regulus: on May 9, 1949, Rainier III, Prince of Monaco (May 31, 1923 – April 6, 2005), became The Sovereign Prince of Monaco, and ruled the Principality of Monaco for more than 50 years, making him one of the longest ruling monarchs of the 20th century (Wikipedia). Saturn represents stability and Regulus is a royal star. (Saturn had just gone stationary direct at 29º Leo a week prior). Always remember, Leo rules the heart. Mars / Regulus has tremendous potential, so act from your heart – today and always. For more on the Regulus / Mars conjunction go to EarthSky.
In contemplating today’s Mars / Neptune opposition, I came across a neat solution:
So, BP is working on the so-called “cut and cap” procedure now. Hmm, Mars does rule cutting, machinery, action, and Neptune rules oil. So, is it the “half-baked” scheme I mentioned yesterday? Or a real solution? Let’s hope and pray that it works. For him -
The Moon goes void of course today at 10:56am (ET-US) and will enter Pisces at 1:34pm. Avoid major purchases or decisions during that 2 1/2 hour period. Mars moves towards it’s opposition to Neptune tomorrow. Watch out for half-baked schemes presented by others. Careful with meds and cocktails.
Thank you so much for your written consultation. I have read it over and over at least 15 times and still refer to it.
I must mention how accurate you were in the paragraph regarding the recent past! Just really dead on.
I hope to be in touch again.
Sincerely,
Jan
